Any MySpace mavens out there?

Not in simple social networking and tech terms, but actually using MySpace to promote a performer?

He probably wouldn't consider himself a maven, but kor27 just recently set up a page. (Of course, now I can't remember if it was for the bar or his business....)

MySpace is set up to work with Eventful. I was using both of those to promote some of the Art Deco performers when I was doing the website for ADSC. It's not that hard. You set up an identity on Eventful for a performer, and then you can subscribe to the Eventful feed on MySpace.
I thought using a hip young rock medium to promote retro performers was delightful. I created identities for RSJO (Royal Society Jazz Orchestra), Sara and Swingtime, Divertimento Dance Orchestra, Frederick Hodges and maybe a few more. Tried to explain how this worked. Was thanked but no one "got it" to carry on.
Have not dealt with this for a year.
Let me know if you have questions. I think electronic promotion is an underused resource.

That's exactly the kind of experience I'm looking for. Email me (attrembl(at)bovil.com) and I'll mail you the abstract/proposal for the presentation series I'm working on so you can see what I'm trying to do
