So it's come to blackmail...

The supporters of Proposition 8 have started sending threatening letters to business leaders who have contributed to the "No on 8" campaign.

Want to see the blackmail letter? Here's the pdf.

It's pretty inept blackmail.

"You're an open supporter of our opponents. We're going to publish that you're a supporter of our opponents! Something everybody already knows! Take that!"

Morally bankrupt? Incompetent? How about morally bankrupt and incompetent.

See, now you can write to Verizon and ask them why NOT.

Wow, if my business currently had money (instead of massive debt :p), I'd contribute heftily to "No on 8" and laugh in these monkey's faces: "Go ahead! I support no on 8!! Please, publish to the world that I support no on 8! Tell your lies that therefore this automatically means "oppose "traditional" (read: het) marriage (like the one I am IN), eat babies, kick puppies, burn flowers, etc."!! Why on Earth should my customers, who don't know who the fuck YOU are, believe YOU?"

Anyone with half a brain should realize that a basic definition of someone by their vehement opponent is ALWAYS suspect. (Hint: Christians calling Jews "baby eaters" during the Inquisition era...)

Oh, I so hope this backfires on them bigtime.

If you want it to backfire, spread the word, far and wide!

I'll be reposting it tomorrow morning, since I know I'll get no readers if I post it tonight.

Shesh.
I wonder if they sent a letter to my state union, which contributed one million to No on Prop 8. That would be interesting. So far they've only been stupid enough to target businesses.

Wait, Abbot and Associates own the Abbey? Isn't that a gay club in WeHo? LOL! I don't think they'll be giving money to those bigots any time soon!

Awww, they just wish for our country to return to a simpler time.

Like, uh... 400AD.

Your country had conservative Christianity [not to mention white folk] in 400AD? That's... a pretty big accomplishment. ;)

Read The Book of Mormon. That's what it says...
