I agree with you re: why couldn't it have been Creation?

Well, there's a big difference in this case. The Gen Con's bankruptcy filing will, in the long run, probably result in the organization refocusing, paring back in a few areas, and producing better conventions in the future.

I think a Creation bankruptcy filing would result in the collapse of Creation.

Creation going *poof* wouldn't upset me at all. :)

I'm sure that Gen Con LLC filing for Chapter 11 is directly tied to this lawsuit. I wouldn't be surprised to see a settlement in about six months.

I'm sure they're related.

BTW, one of the comments I heard this weekend when talking about Celebration IV was "What? Besides that nobody came?" I get the impression that attendance wasn't what was forecast.

I agree with you totally...the funniest part is all Gen Con LLC has to do to avoid 3 of the 4 charges is give Make-A-Wish the exact amount of the $$ from the charity auction, in a very public way, in Lucasfilm's name, and it seems like that would satisfy the last 3 charges (which seem to be all stemming from the charity $ and what happened to it). As for the first part...well, they could be in court on that one for years and years and still George etc. might not see any $$...

I probably would have posted if I weren't working GDC this week and thus too tired to do more than scan and comment at night before I collapse into bed...

Haven been to GenCon and seen Star Wars (before it was Episode IV) all I can say is that this couldn't have happened to a more deserving "couple."
