More "you're hurting Columbus and Denver" cries...

I didn't point out that Columbus is hurting itself already (by no-showing at Interaction without any warning) and that the Sunday Meeting is on Saturday this year...

Damn straight...
I really have little interest in any bid but Denver's as a serious vote (and really, Columbus has never felt like it had a chance, especially after the no-show at the con that I no-showed) and I'm betting that it'll be close.
I don't think any hoax bid has ever really changed teh result of a Site Selection vote, especially one where the vote is meaningless since the administrator HAS to disregard the votes cast.

I guess I'm hoping Denver pulls it off because I like Gnomes!

Columbus is pretty much out of the game. They missed Westercon, Worldcon and NASFiC last year, and only Joni Dashoff was representing them at SMOFcon. She was pretty adamant that they were still in the game but there's no more credibility. At ConCave this year, only Larry Smith was keen on Columbus; he's the bid Vice Chair.

We need "easy target" ribbons.

Ooh! The $50 Pre-inclined and pre-judiced to pre-oppose any bid that pre-sumes to pre-sent itself as pre-ferred to those that were pre-approved level!

Well, I want "Casa de What?" ribbons for prefolks (and I think we can afford them). A small stash (50, say) of "easy target" ribbons for folks who actually come up and complain to a member of the bid committee is a great idea, though.

I like it!
I'll spring for those.
As for Easy Targets, let's make sure all the other bid chairs get one...preferably without explanation (though I know that Kent will catch it)
