It's slow to shoot, and I've found that the zoom is, well, too limited for my needs. The wide-angle is OK, but a longer lens would have been really useful at the rodeo.
There's a new camera out, though, that's pretty tempting.
The Canon S80 is pretty slick. It's got a Digic II processor, so it's faster than the S230. It's 8 megapixels, so it'll garner enough resolution for the big printer. Best of all, it offers an adapter and auxilliary lenses to boost the wide-angle and long-focus capability. The telephoto converter has an effective 200mm focal length (or rather, a 200mm lens on a 35mm camera has the same level of magnification).
So I'm thinking, at some point in the future, an S80, the adapter and the telephoto converter, and a slave flash or two for better lighting control.
But not today.
Maybe in a month or three.
(Yeah, I could spend serious money on a Digital Rebel SLR, but that would involve in major investment in lenses and equipment, and I probably wouldn't take better pictures with it.)
