The wine cabinet, it is in...

Yeppers, it sure is. Doesn't look like much, just a giant mahogany fridge with chintzy brass door handles. Miracle of miracles, it fit in the garage with no problems. I'm really glad I shifted the washing machine and dryer about 8" last night, though.

Since the ambient temperature was in the mid-50's when they schlepped it over (on a flat-bed truck), it already got a good cool-down while in transit. They installed the chiller, which ran for about 10 minutes before shutting down and registering 54 degrees. We could probably load it now, but we're going to give it the day to stabilize a bit while we think about how the wine should sort. Pictures when it's loaded.

Excuse me, but please do look the other way while I steal your brass door handled wine cooler.

yeah, well, we mortgaged part of the house to buy it.

(i.e. wrote a check from my equity line. Of course it was one of the things we *got* the equity line for).

It really looks like one of those inexpensive pressboard/vinyl armoires. But glass-fronted just was not going to be practical in a garage-placed unit. Not to mention even more expensive.

it does look better than a pressboard/vinyl armoire, but the handles are pretty much of that quality. We could probably measure the spacing and pick up nicer ones at Home Depot, or Expo, or Ikea...

True. It is at least real mahogany veneer.

I didn't check to see how the handles are mounted. If they are bolted straight through the doors we can swap 'em. If they are bolted to the layer outside the insulation we're out of luck. Or else we have to use really good glue

straight-through. Checked already.

I have to say, veneer or not, when filled with wine it looks stealworthy enough to me. ;-)

We wouldn't have the space anywhere in our tiny cottage, no garage either. Thus only 24 bottles of reds, kept in the coolest corner of the kitchen. A mere 'nothig' compared to your lot.

btw, check my comment to kaysho's latest post and weigh in on the silliness :-)

You two are truly gods of wine. Hail Bacchuses!
