But I do take a fence at the following statement:
Despite their enduring appeal, bubbles haven't been improved much in 60 years, the only significant exception being in 2002, when SpinMaster in Toronto introduced Catch-A-Bubble, clear bubbles that lasted as long as five minutes.

ONLY significant exception?

As a parent, I would have to add "edible bubbles" to the list, which I first saw at a kiddie party. THOSE are awesome. :D

Hmmm, your comment to this article brings up a new use for this product...
washing foul mouths out with (bubble) soap! (It's the school teacher side of me!)
Actually, I think this article demonstrates the never-give-up attitude this guy has, and is inspirational as a teaching tool!
Oh and yeah, colored edible bubbles would send stock through the roof.
