Projectors?

keyword-3

Oh, lazywebs...

I'm looking for projector recommendations.

Portable is necessary. Mini, pocket or pico are not.

WSXGA is necessary.

Audio is not necessary.

High brightness is desirable.

Long lamp life is desirable.

Wireless, if it actually works, would be really cool.

I've an Optoma 330 - it's great, about the size of 2 iPhones stuck together and has enough battery for a movie.

BUT I suspect that the brightness won't be good enough.

Yeah, that's the picoprojector scale I'm not really interested in.

WSXGA is not really a standard - what minimum resolution do you need? I don't have enough first-hand experience with projectors to make a recommendation, but I know that brightness is inversely proportional to resolution. If you need bright and high res, you're talking expensive.

Yeah, I meant WXGA, I just was on my phone and couldn't look up the standards. 1280x800 is good enough. There are a number of reasonably small (sub 5lbs) bright (2500-3500 lumens) projectors out now.

My recommendation was marked as spam.

Casio projector, entry level, no link this time. XJ-A256

I have an older version of this :http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=soho&cs=ussoho1&sku=224-7028&~ck=dellSearch&baynote_bnrank=0&baynote_irrank=3

Has done well by me for a travel projector in 1/2 lit rooms. Not used a lot, but still has a lot of hours left on lamp so haven't been looking for a new one as yet.
