I love it! Very a propos, these days... I've actually considered removing the link to my LJ from my website, in case a potential employer should find it (after all, my resume is Googleable, and it's linked from my website too).

Personally, I think some of these cases I've read about recently are ridiculous. Isn't it better for an unhappy employee to vent in a blog than for them to go postal because they've held in their anger and frustration, and the pent-up emotion has finally exploded? It's my understanding that some states allow employers to fire employees at will, so the employee would have no legal recourse in a situation like this one. Is that true? (More to the point, is that fair? Can an argument be made that firing an employee because of something they've written in a blog is a violation of the Constitutional right to free speech?)
